River Meadows Safe Spaces Policy
At River Meadows, we are committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for everyone. We believe in the power of community and shared experiences, and we strive to foster a space where all participants can enjoy themselves free from discrimination, harassment, or any form of exclusionary behaviour.
Our Commitment
We are dedicated to ensuring that River Meadows is a space where all individuals feel respected and valued. We have a zero-tolerance policy for any actions or behaviour that make others feel unsafe. This includes any form of harassment, discrimination, or abusive behaviour based on (but not limited to):
Sexual harassment
Race or ethnicity
Gender identity or expression
Sexual orientation
Disability
Age
Religion or belief
Nationality
Socioeconomic status
Physical appearance or body size
What We Expect
We ask that everyone:
Respect others: Treat everyone with kindness, empathy, and consideration. Be mindful of how your actions and words may affect others.
Be inclusive: Welcome and support people from all backgrounds and identities. Celebrate diversity and encourage others to do the same.
Be responsible: If you witness or experience behaviour that goes against our Safe Spaces policy, please report it to a member of our team. We take all reports seriously and will address them promptly.
Reporting and Support
If you feel unsafe or uncomfortable at any time during River Meadows, we encourage you to speak to us at any time. We are here to listen and support you.
We encourage anyone that sees anything untoward to come forward, as a community we need to look out for anything that doesn't look or feel right, not only those who may be on the receiving end of these actions.
You can also report any issues in confidence that they will be treated confidentially and actioned as necessary.
Consequences
We take violations of our Safe Spaces policy very seriously and enforce a zero-tolerance policy for any behaviour that compromises the safety and well-being of others. Depending on the nature of the incident, consequences may include:
A verbal warning
Immediate removal from the event
Banning from future River Meadows events
